BREAKING NEWS: The Doughboy has taken over the Pillsbury website, and is making his favorite Christmas flavor even more magical—with a little sugar and spice, and a whole lot of giggles.

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. – The popular combination of sugar cookie dough rolled in warm cinnamon spice and sweet sugar, formerly known as “Snickerdoodle,” has been renamed for the 2019 holiday season.

Poppin’ Fresh—known professionally as “the Doughboy” and perhaps best known to the public for his famous giggle—announced the change via the Pillsbury website, explaining he had recently learned that “snicker” was another word for “giggle.”

“I started thinking about how my favorite Christmas flavor is called ‘snickerdoodle,’ and that another way to say it would be ‘giggledoodle,” said the 54-year-old Pillsbury spokesdoughboy. “And that was so much fun to say, it made me giggle even more!”

In response to questions about the timing of the name change ahead of the Christmas season, Poppin’ Fresh, widely considered to be the world’s foremost expert on giggles, noted that “the holiday season is the happiest time of year, and what symbolizes happiness better than giggles?”

The Doughboy said he was busy renaming multiple snickerdoodle-inspired recipes across Pillsbury.com, including several non-cookie treats. “Most people only know about snickerdoodle—er, giggledoodle!—cookies, but there are so many other ways to enjoy my favorite flavor this holiday, like yummy Snickerdoodle Monkey Bread and Snickerdoodle-Apple Cream Cheese Bars!”

He concluded his announcement by providing the following list of Giggledoodle recipes, before excusing himself so he could change into his new Christmas sweater for a holiday party later that day.
