- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ginger
- 1 (16-oz.) can pitted dark sweet cherries, drained, reserving liquid
- 1 tablespoon Madeira wine
Instructions

Step1In small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and ginger; mix well. If necessary, add water to reserved cherry liquid to make 1 cup. Stir into cornstarch mixture. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly.

Step2Remove from heat; stir in cherries and wine. Serve warm or cool.
