Crazy Great Idea: Holiday Toaster Strudel Breakfast Bar

Created December 8, 2016
Toaster Strudel
Set out Toaster Strudel pastries with fun toppings for a DIY holiday breakfast bar the kids will love.

This breakfast idea is so fun, you can probably count it as one more present for the kids. On Christmas morning (or whenever you have a house full of kids around the holidays), set out a stack of Pillsbury Toaster Strudel pastries, plus fun toppings, and let kids create edible art projects. It’s all the fun of decorating cookies, minus waiting for the oven to heat up! Just grab your toaster and you’re good to go.

I love how easy it was to put together this special breakfast. I already had the cookie cutters and you can find plastic condiment bottles at most craft stores. I just set out a dozen strawberry Toaster Strudel pastries, plus cookie cutters and sweet (but still morning-appropriate) add-ons for decorating.

In addition to the icing that comes with the strudel, I filled two condiment bottles with Yoplait light yogurt—Chocolate Cherry Cupcake and Key Lime flavors, if you’re wondering—and set out small bowls of Trix cereal. (Don’t the bright colors make you think of tree ornaments?) But I think the best thing about a breakfast bar is that you can select any toppings you like. Peanut butter, sprinkles, raisins, chocolate chips, fruit and granola would all work great here, as would other flavors of Toaster Strudel.

And what mom wouldn’t love this breakfast-worthy Christmas card? Too cute!
