This veggie pizza has been a fan favorite for over 25 years—ever since it first appeared in our Pillsbury Appetizers cookbook. We've tweaked it a bit over time (like adding the option of easy Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheets as well as Crescent Rolls and some bright shredded carrots!), but the deliciousness remains.

A creamy base of seasoned sour cream and cream cheese provides a luscious foundation for a colorful array of fresh vegetables, creating a satisfying crunch in every bite. The light, flaky crescent dough forms the perfect crust for this veggie pizza recipe. This crowd-pleasing cold vegetable pizza is perfect for parties, game days, or any occasion. Cut into bite-sized pieces, this crescent roll veggie pizza is easy to serve and requires no warming. Enjoy it as a light meal, snack, or potluck sensation—it's guaranteed to be a hit, leaving everyone wanting more! It's a simple way to get your veggies in and a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Recipe Ingredients

Less than 10 ingredients are needed to make this favorite veggie pizza.

Crescent Dough: You can use either 2 cans of Pillsbury™ Original Dough Sheets or Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls as a great shortcut for making the crust.

Cream Cheese: Cream cheese makes the perfect base for toppings because it remains creamy and easy to cut through, even when chilled.

Sour Cream: We tested the spread base using only cream cheese, but found adding sour cream lightens it a bit and gives a touch of tanginess.

Seasonings: Garlic powder and dill weed give the sauce a ranch dressing flavor.

Veggie Toppings: We tested this veggie pizza with all kinds of toppings over the years and found that 1 stalk of broccoli, 1/2 of a cucumber, 1/2 a carrot and 1 plum tomato create a delicious, colorful combination for this veggie pizza.

Cookware You’ll Need

Standard cookware and utensils are all you’ll need to prepare this vegetable pizza.

15x10x1-Inch Pan: This is the perfect size pan because 2 cans of crescents perfectly fit. The pan’s sides help form the raised edge of the crescent veggie pizza, holding all the toppings in place. Cookie sheets won’t work well here since they don’t have sides.

Mixing Bowl and Spatula: A small mixing bowl and rubber spatula is all you’ll need to combine the ingredients for our creamy pizza spread and to add it on top of the baked crust.

Other Cookware You’ll Need: A clean cutting board and sharp knife will make slicing and chopping the toppings quick and easy.

How to Make Veggie Pizza

Our crescent veggie pizza is simple to make in just 4 easy steps.

1. Unroll and Bake

Unroll the crescent dough and use your fingers to press it into the bottom and up the sides of the pan. No need to poke holes in the crust before baking. Bake the crust for 13 to 17 minutes, until it’s golden brown, then let it cool completely before topping. This is a great time to start cutting up veggies for the topping.

2. Stir and Spread Cream Cheese Mixture

Mix up softened cream cheese, sour cream, dill, and garlic powder with a rubber spatula, then spread the mixture over your baked crescent crust. If you need to soften your cream cheese, just microwave it on High for 15 to 20 seconds or until softened.

3. Add Veggie Pizza Toppings

Bite-sized and shredded veggies (which make the pizza easier to cut into squares and to eat) are sprinkled over the top, adding just the right amount of color and crunch. Pick up pre-chopped vegetables at the grocery store for an easy short-cut.

4. Cut and Serve

Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut the veggie pizza into 32 pieces, cutting 8 rows by 4, if serving as an appetizer. If serving as a snack or light meal, cut into 6 or 12 pieces. You can make this pizza up to 2 hours ahead of time and refrigerate it until you’re ready to serve.

Possible Variations

From simple ingredient swaps to tasty topping additions, there are plenty of ways to jazz up veggie pizza.

Switch Up the Veggies: Try adding thinly sliced radishes or red onion, chopped red or yellow bell peppers, or black or green olives to this veggie pizza.

Add Some Extra Flavor: Add a little something extra to your creamy sauce by stirring in some chopped green chiles, or pickled jalapeños. Or try chive and onion or vegetable cream cheese instead of regular.

Other easy veggie pizza toppings you could add are a favorite cooked meat— crumbled bacon, finely chopped pancetta, pepperoni, or salami are nice—or some extra spice like hot sauce or crushed red pepper flakes if you like heat. You’ve also told us you like to change up your sauce by adding ranch dressing mix or other dried dip mixes to the cream cheese.

For more pizza possibilities, try our White Bean Sausage and Veggie Pizza with broccoli, carrot, and sweet pepper toppings and Chicken Pesto Pizza topped with premade pesto, cooked chicken, and melty mozzarella.

Serving Veggie Pizza

Whether you're feeding a crowd for the big game or simply looking for a fresh, light snack for a family movie night, veggie pizza is a great addition to your menu. These are some of our favorite appetizer or game-day recipes that we think compliment it perfectly.

Pigs In A Blanket: This is another one of our top-rated crescent roll appetizer recipes, and for good reason! The flaky, savory mini crescent dogs taste great with the fresh, tangy flavors of our cold veggie pizza, and they’re both super dippable.

Deviled Eggs: Deviled eggs are served cold, just like our crescent veggie pizza—there’s no need to worry about reheating either dish during the party!

Buffalo Chicken Dip: Nothing says game day quite like Buffalo chicken dip, and this slow cooker recipe is a major time saver! Your guests can use the veggie pizza as a dipper, or other snacks like tortilla chips or sliced veggies for easy dipping.

Storage

For a perfectly light, flaky crust and fresh-tasting toppings, we recommend serving this veggie pizza soon after making it. If you do end up with leftovers, here’s how we suggest storing them.

Refrigerator

Place individual pieces of veggie pizza in an airtight container—or tightly wrapping them in plastic wrap or foil—before storing them in the fridge for one day at most.

Freezer

Because this fresh veggie pizza can become soggy when thawed, we don’t recommend freezing it.

Tips from the

Pillsbury Kitchens

  • tip 1

Layers of fat in the crescent dough help them rise, creating a pizza crust that has a lighter texture than a traditional bread dough crust and making it the perfect choice for spring or summer when lighter is almost always better!

  • tip 2
Serve at room temperature or chilled as an appetizer or summer patio supper, topped with a casual mix of veggies or creatively arranged in rows.
  • tip 3
To easily soften cream cheese, remove wrapper and place on a microwaveable plate. Microwave uncovered on High for 15 to 20 seconds or until softened.
